The services that Educating Communities for Parenting has provided for the education and support of parents and families has been seriously affected by the budget crisis at Pennsylvania’s state government level. While public officials fail to come to an agreement on how to allocate public money, our agency has been forced to make difficult decisions on how to continue to maintain the level of service we have provided to a variety of populations despite the funding freeze. We are committed to continuing our parenting education classes and workshops, but services that allow us to connect with our families beyond the classroom are at serious risk.
We are asking you to contact Governor Tom Wolf and your state representatives and express how important these services are to families and urge them to come to an agreement NOW so that our agency as well as other non-profits who work to prevent child abuse and provide essential family services can continue to provide consistent service.
